Untitled Prehistory WIP
A clan of Neanderthals and hunting party of Humans come together to hunt mammoth on the steppes of Europe during the Pleistocene epoch. When one of the humans is injured and unable to return home, he joins the Neanderthal clan to recover over the winter.
Historical Fiction, with a trans lead.
I've loved Neanderthals and other early hominids since reading about new research into the Neanderthal genome back in 2010. You bet I was excited to find out that I had an incredibly high percentage of Neanderthal DNA.
Though it's in the early steps of development, this book is my homage to our nearest cousins and ancestors. I hope to cast a compassionate, sympathetic light on life during the late Pleistocene... Many books about this time are brutal, often sexist, racist, and homophobic, and that's not the kind of world I choose to believe we came from.
A long stand-alone novel (for now).
